Exhibition “Dans l’infini des songes”

Solo exhibition by Jean Pierre FAVREAU

Photographer Jean Pierre Favreau has been roaming the world for the past fifty years, taking an unusual look at landscapes and people. He captures the fleeting moment of inner escape, a witness to universal humanity, whether in the middle of the Mauritanian desert or lost in the frenzy of the Tokyo subway. In black and white or, more rarely, in color, his photographs open many windows onto Elsewhere. Elsewhere in the world, elsewhere within.
A native of Charente-Maritime, he is no stranger to Rochefort, where between 2006 and 2008 he produced a series of photographs at the request of Bernard Grasset, then Mayor of Rochefort. Far from tourist clichés, these images tell the story, in his own way, of everyday spaces, of details we no longer look at, which the photographer here sublimates with his subjective eye. Jean Pierre Favreau’s images are now part of national photographic collections, and are held by the Médiathèque du patrimoine et de la photographie, a partner in this exhibition.
