Violaine Laveaux’s Exhibition

Exhibition: “Les objets monde,” May 2–November 1
Château du Haut
Domaine de Villarceaux (95)

At the Château du Haut, Violaine Laveaux presents an exhibition designed as a journey through the castle’s various rooms. Sculptures in stoneware, porcelain, and brass are arranged according to a principle of formal, chromatic, and narrative associations, in close dialogue with the history of the site, its former uses, and its surrounding landscape. The artist’s approach focuses on the areas of porosity between object and environment, between function and symbol, and between memory and perception.

Nature plays a central role in this project. Long featured in aristocratic residences as a symbol of refinement, order, and mastery, it is reinterpreted here through a sensitive, contemporary, and at times ambiguous approach.

The exhibition thus weaves a network of connections between interior and exterior, between historical heritage and the present-day experience of the site.

Located in the heart of the French Vexin Regional Nature Park, the Villarceaux Regional Estate invites you on a fabulous journey back in time. Its magnificent gardens and water features surround a 16th-century manor house that was the setting for Ninon de Lenclos’s love affair in the 17th century. An 18th-century château, complete with its original décor, overlooks the entire estate. In addition, from April through November, the site offers numerous free cultural events and nature-themed celebrations. This gem has been restored, maintained, and curated by the Region since 1989.

The Villarceaux Regional Estate is open from April 4 to November 1, 2026.

It welcomes visitors daily, Tuesday through Sunday, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., free of charge.

In addition to the walks you can take there, discover all the cultural and nature events (mostly free) offered throughout the season!
