Introduction
Whether it’s a romantic escape, a daydream, a stroll, a fleeting moment—whether chosen or forced—
an escape is certainly, even in its lightest form, more than just fantasy; it’s tinged with defiance and bravery.
By escaping from everyday life, artists—or what they represent—compel us to reflect on different, unique values, perspectives, places, or people who, through this escape, can teach us to appreciate what is different.
