Presentation
Because pastel suddenly became a pretext—one for bringing together the gallery’s artists around this technique, which is both historic and still very much alive—the exhibition evolved into a presentation that juxtaposes pastel with sculptures and an installation.
Moving from one artist to the next, we traverse a cartography of the intimate, whether it be the heart of a forest, a live model posing in the studio, the world laid flat, the secret of an interior bathed in diaphanous light, the colorful gable of a house, or the singularity of a mixed earth. The works on display reflect the universe of each of these artists, whose practice reveals a quality of observation and a sensitivity to the world of rare finesse and elegance.
